Two hundred years ago 10 year old Eliza Strawbridge stitched her beautiful sampler that depicts Adam and Eve, as well as a shepherd and shepherdess tending their sheep. I love how colorful she made her original sampler and, as it celebrates its bicentennial this year, the colors still shine through. I kept these colors in my reproduction. I especially love the two sheep grazing under the tree with the bird perched above. And the border is just striking with her masterful use of color. I really enjoyed bringing this piece back to life to enjoy another two hundred years.
